These are the Notion setups I used for my own IB exams and still use with the students I tutor, cleaned up so you can use them yourself. They're free. Click a link, then Duplicate in the top-right corner of the Notion page to copy it into your own workspace. You need a free Notion account.

1. IB Revision Planner

Open the template in Notion ↗

One row per study task, tied to a syllabus code from your subject guide, with the type of studying (past paper, question bank, flashcards, notes…) and an honest Done box. It comes with a weekday subject rotation, a day template, a daily one-line check-in that shows you when the plan is slipping, and a chart of tasks done per week.

2. Mistake Log

Open the template in Notion ↗

Log every lost mark from tests, mocks and past papers with an error type (method choice, sign and arithmetic, didn't check, command term missed, definition gap…) and the check that would have caught it. A chart shows which error type is costing you the most marks, so you know exactly what to drill.

3. IA Planner

Open the template in Notion ↗

One page per internal assessment: a research question builder with a precision checklist, a variables table, method-first structure, a missing-data protocol, a statistical test chooser, a kit card for collection day, "defend your design" questions, an evaluation table and a milestone board.

4. IB Biology Notes Hub (2025 syllabus)

Open the template in Notion ↗

All 40 sub-topics of the current Biology syllabus, A1.1 Water to D4.3 Climate change, each as its own page, marked SL or AHL. Rate your confidence honestly (red, yellow, green), track questions done and flashcards made, and get a "next review" date that comes sooner for weak topics. This is the structure I used for my own IB Biology notes.

How these fit together

  • The Revision Planner decides when you study what.
  • The Notes Hub shows what you know and what's still red.
  • The Mistake Log shows why you're losing marks.
  • The IA Planner keeps your coursework on track.

Add 15–20 minutes of flashcards a day and daily exam-style questions, and you have the whole system. For the questions, I built Heptavo: 17,000 original IB exam-style questions with mark schemes, across seven courses.
